JUNE Breed Spotlight
Pugs. What can you say, they're everywhere...coffee mugs, greeting cards, sweatshirts...there's even a kids TV show about them!
This very popular breed - with the large round head, the big, sparkling eyes, and the wrinkled brow – have delighted owners for years. There are sometimes known as the clowns of the dog world, with their silly antics...but they can also be mischievous, so watch out!
Most pugs are fawn with a dark muzzle, or black. They ideally should weigh between 14 – 18 pounds, and really no more than 20 pounds.
They enjoy their food, so care must be taken to keep them trim.
The Pug thrives on human companionship, which makes them great family dogs. They are small but sturdy and they don’t take up much space, which makes them an ideal house dog.
